Extract Images from Word Documents

Word documents are one of the most common ways people share images, especially in business contexts. Suppliers send product catalogs, colleagues share reports with charts, and clients provide documentation with screenshots. But getting those images out of Word - in their original quality - isn't straightforward. Copying and pasting from Word often reduces image quality. Saving the document as a web page creates messy folder structures. Our Word image extractor takes a cleaner approach: we parse the document file directly and extract each embedded image in its original format and resolution. For DOCX files (the modern format since Office 2007), images are stored in a media folder within the ZIP-based file structure. For legacy DOC files, we parse the binary OLE format to locate embedded image data. Either way, you get clean, high-quality images ready for use elsewhere.
